ABOUT:

The Paideia Project-Incubator is Europe’s leading program for supporting project development and social innovation in the Jewish sphere. It is a method-oriented 10-day summer program focusing on acquiring the necessary tools and support structures for getting projects off the ground. The program gives participants the keys, the inspiration and the networks needed to convert their ideas into action.

Since its inception in 2006, over 200 individuals have participated in the program, bringing over 220 projects for Jewish life and culture in Europe. These projects have reached hundreds of thousands of individuals across Europe, and their managers are active in over 30 different countries.

TARGET GROUP:

The Paideia Project-Incubator is a program for activists and innovators for European Jewish culture who want to develop projects in the educational, cultural, communal, intercultural and institutional fields.

STRUCTURE:

Over ten days, the Paideia Project-Incubator provides a step-by-step working process – from the idea stage to realization – and includes workshops, seminars, individual tutoring time for each participant, peer-to-peer feedback sessions, and check-ins. The curriculum includes sessions on project development, fundraising, Jewish content, individual tutoring, social activities and much more. There are eight hours of scheduled activities each day, cultural and social programming at night.

OUTCOMES:

• The tools and knowledge you need to get your project off the ground or to the next stage
• A pan-European network
• Broadened Jewish cultural horizons
• Experienced tutoring – from project conceptualization and developing Jewish content – to fundraising and hands-on tools for project implementation
• The inclusion in a 600 member strong community of Paideia graduates from all over Europe,
working in education, community leadership, the museum world, academia, the arts and more, as well as
access to the Paideia alumni conference in locations across Europe, each year gathering 100 people

It was full of useful input, new windows of opportunities opened up. I enjoyed the pedagogical professionalism of the mentors, their extremely authentic behaviors and personalities, their encouragement and the fact they worked so well as a team. Stockholm itself was a great experience, Tollere a wonderful retreat, the Paideia staff helpful and warm and Hedva the best individual mentor. Thanks!!
The project incubator surpassed my already high expectations. The environment was welcoming and stimulating, the mentors were helpful, knowledgable, and professional, and the group was full of interesting people.
It meant a lot to me to learn from professionally experienced people. – mentors, participants also – I haven’t taken part in such a well organized training before, thank you!
I understood weak parts of my project, so that I am aware what to expect and how to strengthen them. I met amazing people, who became my friends and some even partners. All in all, I am calm for European Jewish future:)
Paideia gave me the confidence, learning, and space for developing the necessary skills required for turning project dreams into reality. Barbara, Erik and all mentors were truly inspiring, as was Sweden in general. I feel grateful to have been part of program with such passionate purveyors of living European Jewish culture.
Realyy positive experience, staff and mentors are high-level professionals who helped me to unserstand my project
My experience in the Incubator Project was incredible. Such a source of inspiration and knowledge, that really helped me in order to advance in my projects.
It was my best training ever with professional schedule and organizing. I loved the personal mentoring and that we focused on the practical part of NGO management.
