Art has the power of inspiring us to reflect on ourselves and on others.
Can art challenge stereotypes and conventional wisdoms? We pose the question to four established artists and academicians, all Israel-born. Through art, they look at the many faces of Israel.
Together with the Jewish Community of Stockholm and the Jewish Theatre, Paideia invites you to listen, to share your thoughts and to mingle.
Wednesday, 22 April

5.30: Screening of the celebrated movie Waltz with Bashir , with an introduction by Barbara Spectre (Paideia).

Jonas Mosskin, Psykologer tittar på film – Psychologists watching movies.
Negar Josephi, Kulturradion - Swedish Public Radio.
Moderator: Astrid Söderbergh Widding, Department of Cinema Studies, Stockholm University.
Raz Yosef will give a lecture titled "The Construction of modern Israeli nationalism in Israeli cinema" every day during week 17.

12.00-7.00 Full-day program at the stunning premises of the Royal Swedish Academy of Fine Arts, Fredsgatan 12.
12.00 – 1.00: Art exhibitions and Sunday breakfast at Café Mejan.
1.00 – 3.00: Meet artists Gal Weinstein (Tel Aviv) and Oreet Ashery (London) in conversation about their work. Moderator: Anneli Rådestad, Paideia. Tickets: 60 SEK.
3.00 – 4.00: Interlude: Enjoy art, continue the conversation and eat at Café Mejan.
4.00 – 6.00: Evening of poetry reading and music with poet Hamutal Bar-Yosef (Ben-Gurion University) and actor Hannes Meidal (Stockholm).
